K&A and NASPA have worked closely together on many previous projects, including Learning Reconsidered; it is a productive alliance that merges the intellectual assets, agility, and practical, problem-solving focus of a consulting practice with the organizational strengths of NASPA. K&A's network of trainers, researchers, and strategists have worked for more than a decade to increase institutional capacity; through ICSSIA, they will create flexible, responsive methods of capacity-building that can be disseminated and reinforced throughout higher education.
ICSSIA will prioritize and facilitate the gathering and development of independent applied research germane to the concepts of student success and institutional accountability. Some research has already been completed to help institutions make sound decisions about assessment instruments, methods of enhancing student learning, and strategies for promoting student success. ICSSIA's first applied research project will help educators and administrators understand and choose from the bewildering array of assessment instruments now available in higher education.
Assessment Instrument Project
Search the Assessment Instrument Project Database!
The purpose of this research was to catalog and describe existing assessment tools in order to assist leaders in higher education in selecting instruments with which to assess student success. The results both describe the available instruments along multiple dimensions and provide a framework within which educational leaders can evaluate what tools are appropriate to use for differing situations.
We understand that pertinent survey information periodically changes. Please note that an update is in progress to both the assessment instrument project database and assessment instrument project executive summary.
